RCA

RCAs, or Relatives and Close Associates, are sometimes referred to as ‘PEPs by association’. They are related to or have a close connection to a PEP (Politically Exposed Person). RCAs will be people like spouses and partners of RCAs, other family members and close friends. Anyone with a business or professional relationship with a PEP may also be classified as an RCA.

The Smart Search system automatically screens all checks against the Dow Jones’ WatchList - a global list compiled from more than 1,100 different worldwide Sanctions lists and will alert clients if any of their customers are a PEP, SIP or RCA. The system takes updates from Dow Jones daily to provide daily monitoring for all clients.
